The Old Bread Oven Holiday property in Bosherston
The Old Bread Oven is a charming cottage, part of the owners home in the heart of the village of Bosherston. Part of what was originally a Pembrokeshire long house dating back over 400 years, it has been beautifully and lovingly restored with original beams and wooden floorboards and comfortably furnished in a modern, rustic style with local artwork. Set back from the road, a cobbled courtyard leads you into the spacious sitting room with a wood burning stove to ensure cosy evenings, the restored Flemish chimney with the old bread oven make a real feature. The galley style fitted kitchen is cleverly appointed and leads out to the rear of the cottage. Quaint wooden stairs lead up from the sitting room to the romantic galleried double bedroom nestling in the eaves above with crisp white linen and warm Melin Tregwynt throws. Enjoy sitting in the lawned garden to the front and side of the cottage on a summer’s evening, prettily planted with colourful flowers and herbs or you are welcome to enjoy the owner's extensive grounds where you will always find a sunny, sheltered spot to relax.
Just a stone’s throw from your door is the ‘Ye Old Worlde’ Tea Rooms, where you can enjoy traditional afternoon tea, as well as the local pub, St Govans Inn, serving good food all within walking distance. The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is an excellent way to explore this stunning coastline taking in the famous Green Bridge of Wales, the magical St Govans Chapel built into the cliff side and Barafundle beach. The glorious Broadhaven South beach is your closest beach only 10 minutes walk away, the best way to reach it is by taking a stroll round the Lilly Ponds which start only yards from your door. There are a number of other fantastic beaches to choose from in the area including Freshwater West and West Angle Bay.
A characterful cottage full of history which makes a romantic retreat for a couple looking to explore this beautiful area of South Pembrokeshire whatever the time of year.
In 2009 Freshwater West, one of the wildest beaches in Pembrokeshire, famed for its surf and long, golden beach and high, sheltered sand dunes became a film set for not just one blockbuster but two!! Namely Robin Hood and the new Harry Potter movie - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Bosherston is located close to Castlemartin military firing range. The range covers an area of 2400 hectares on the South Pembrokeshire coast within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The border of the range is approx 800m away. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path, a National Trail, crosses Range East (during non-firing periods) and inland along 8 km of roads past Range West. When firing is in progress the road diversion through Bosherston provides a longer walk. Vehicle access is available to Stack Rocks and St Govan's Chapel. Both of these are popular with sightseers, climbers and fishermen. The sea cliffs provide some of the best cliff climbing in the UK. Range West and the inland part of Range East are generally not open to the public. However, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority/Defence Estates organises regular accompanied walks into this area. Many other groups are also catered for through annual safety and conservation briefings. These access opportunities are only available during non-firing periods.

We have a huge dilemma...we really want to shout from the rooftops "What an amazing, wonderful, special, place!"...but at the same time, we want to keep it a secret, so we can come back and hide away in this beautiful little treasure! This is our honeymoon. We wanted something super special to stay in. We most certainly were not disappointed! Lovely long walks, lots of sunshine and so, so many amazing memories to take into our married life together. I usually look forward to the end of a break, I am happy with my lot, but this is one break I am gutted is ending. I cannot wait to come back again to celebrate our first wedding anniversary in this beautiful little heavenly retreat. Thank you for such a beautiful place!
